I found Greg on…

What caught my attention about him is how he introduced himself and his interest on leadership. I thought to myself “woow, with this much experience expertise and self actualization still giving what he can as a coach”, I was really impressed and reached out to him requesting to connect; he responded.

After introducing myself, I invited him to share something from his ocean of experience for our leadership trainees in the health sector of Ethiopia and he replied without giving it a second thought. We had about an hour conversation about the session and I witnessed that he really is universal listener great coach.

Finally the date approached to share his experience and he created a lot of aha moments for our trainees. The following are some of the feedbacks provided by our trainees about Greg. ““Luck is where opportunity meets preparedness” aha, if there is no preparation luck is something of a vacuum”, ““As we are humans it’s okay to have bad days” hmm, it’s natural to have bad days and so it should not be a source of stress”.

All respondents gained a lot of knowledge on burn-out and its management and they found the materials shared very helpful. Majority of the trainees feel they have “yilugnta” and they need to avoid that, they feel they have been having yilugnta it has affected their life without noticing it.

Another aha moment mentioned is about new idea which has been mentioned by Greg “New idea is like a seed needs help to grow and communication is power…”, another quote by one of our trainees is “However, the idea is big being fearless is an important thing and leads to success”. The trainees also admired the time management skills, team building and his ability on solving complex problems.

All in all… with Greg I learnt that he is a natural coach. With his plenty of experience he is open to learning new things.
